Intex Aqua Wonder-a wonder !! ;)

You might have seen Farhan Akhtar almost giving his life to catch this phone in the advertisement. Intex being one of the best Indian company for making computer peripherals enters the smart phone market with its aqua range. This phone costs Rs 9900 which is in the range of its strong rivals Micromax Canvas 2 and Karbonn Titanium S1.

Now does it give its rival any headache?? Well doesnt look like that. Let us give a glance on why it cannot  handle its strong rivals.

HARDWARE AND DESIGN: Intex Aqua wonder features 4.5 Inches IPS screen unlike the other two Aqua phones which are 5.0 and 5.9 inches respectively. The makers have basically concentrated on the looks. As I told earlier this is one of the cheapest phone in the market and the makers have made sure the phone doesnt look flimsy and cheap just like XOLO X1000
Intex Aqua Wonder looks appealing at first glance. It comes in black and white colour options. We were given a white unit for the review. It is rectangular in shaped with well rounded corners. The thin chrome lining at the edges adds to the overall design of the smartphone. The back looks a little too plain and shiny however, thankfully, it is not slippery.
Though it is light weight and only 8.9mm thick. The overall design finishing is not appealing and poor. For example the notification LED Light..

Camera:

  •  8 MP Camera with auto focus facility
  • 1.3 MP Front Camera
  • Rear Camera does a decent job but does not give the correct image color. Even the image quality is not worth noticing
  • Poor dedicated camera button adds up to the user vows
 Software:
The most important part of any phone is its software. It is build with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean OS). It also comes with two more choices with the lock screen. You can either head to the calling app or the message app unlike other phones were you can head to home screen or camera.

Intex Aqua Wonder also comes pre-loaded with plenty of apps such as Documents to Go, Whatsapp, Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, Facebook, Google Maps, YouTube, Nimbuzz, Skype and Google+. Apart from all these, there is also an Intex Zone app, which houses a mobile tracker and can maintain an auto call record. This app can also direct you to the Intex Web Zone which consists of three Intex websites.

Performance:
It comes with dual core processor with 1 GHz Processor and 512 MB RAM. It comes with 1.93 GB internal storage with 32GB expandable external SD card facility. It provides you with a 4 GB Micro SD card along with the smart phone.
Its one more drawback is its battery back up which is very bad. It comes with 1800 mAh battery which takes a good while to get charged. Though  the company claims to give a battery back up of 3.5 hrs of usage and 72 hrs of standby doesnt look to meet that. At full brightness with max apps working people had to look for charger by the evening.
As it comes with 512 Mb RAM we recommend you to off all the apps before you start any game

Verdict:
It is a budget phone with 4.5 inch display. Apart from the display and interface the company doesnt go in detail about the phone.
My verdict is to go for Micromax Canvas 2 which comes with 5 inch display at the same price.. Recent updation to canvas 2 is that it runs at 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Rating:
 Overall: 2.5/5
 Display: 3/5
 Camera: 2/5
 Performance: 2.5/5
Have a nice day...:)
